A Chip + Jo Style Table
The Historic Post Office participated in The Crystal Clear Event, a fantastic bridal show with a twist. The ladies of Waterford Event Rentals host this event to showcase the best designs in the Hampton Roads event industry. Companies participating pull out all the stops because they want to win the competition! For Kelsey and I, it was a chance to have a little fun designing and reflect on what our lovely historic building means to us.
We were inspired by the simplicity of Magnolia Market and particularly Chip & Jo’s “fixer upper” style. The Historic Post Office was also a fixer upper and has seen quite a bit of transformation in the past year! We love neutrals at the HPO so the white chippy mantel reminded us of the white brick walls in our space. The darker elements like the candlesticks, silverware, and chargers tie in the black industrial beams throughout our building. The lush green and white flowers laying over the fantastic texture of the natural grey runner brought a softness to the organic components of the table. This look utilizes elements of the home (like the cozy chair and rug) in an event setting, so we also brought a bit of our “home” to Crystal Clear.
