Our team brings 30+ years of experience in the event industry and many of us have been with the HPO since its inception in 2016! We pride ourselves on being a responsive and personable staff that treats each event with detailed care. We are passionate about creating the best experience for our clients’ significant moments.

The Historic Post Office is committed to serving our clients, vendors and guests with respect and dignity. We welcome, value, and support clients and creatives of all backgrounds. We are dedicated to life’s greatest celebrations and these events include all people with their unique and diverse qualities.


Kelsey Leeper - Venue Manager

As a previous middle school teacher and wedding planner, Kelsey has found her forte in the wedding industry managing The Historic Post Office. Kelsey has been with the HPO since it underwent renovations in 2016 and has helped build the company from the ground up alongside an amazing team. When she’s not at the HPO, you can find her in full mom-mode at home with her husband and three children.

Celeste - Event Assistant

Celeste established her passion for events in 2019. Planning weddings and events for a winery led to her collaboration with many exclusive clients, including the cast and crew of Hamilton! Celeste's enthusiasm for unforgettable moments stem from her colosal love of Disney. Making her always ready to create some special day magic!

Ellie - Event Assistant

Ellie started in the event industry as a planner for a local caterer and 30 years as a Program Director for a non-profit. She loves to give tours and share the history and beauty of the venue. Nothing brings her more pleasure than watching first hand a couple’s vision come to reality. She loves to spend time with her family, watch college football and travel.

Jennifer - Event Assistant

Jennifer has worked in the industry for fifteen years and is well acquainted with the Hampton Roads’ wedding business. She is a mother of a teen and loves to throw parties for her and her friends. Her passion is to make magical moments for guests to remember for a lifetime.

Leslie - Event Assistant

Leslie is a native of Newport News and a graduate of Christopher Newport College. With a degree in Accounting, she jumped at the chance to be involved in the exciting wedding industry. A love of flowers and parties made for a good fit. She also loves the beach and spends as much time as she can in Avon, NC.

Madeline - Social Media Manager

Madeline is an alumna of Christopher Newport University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Theater. She fell in love with the wedding industry and her husband in Hampton Roads and has been a loyal resident ever since! After executing events for many years, she now enjoys making the HPO look its best online.

Sylvia - Event Assistant

Sylvia has known the building from the days when it acted as a film studio, during which time she operated as a costume designer. She enjoys being a part of events and seeing a couple’s special day come together. In her free time, she loves painting, dancing, and drinking Irish tea!

Viviana - Event Assistant

Viviana is a Graphic Designer and a lover of celebrations. She is an entrepreneur and organizes events in her home country of Colombia. Her motto is: “There will always be a time to celebrate!”
